Say No To UPS
By BlueJeff | November 21, 2007
UPS around my area sucks big time. They are rude and careless. Many of the boxes have been damaged by them and UPS has caused lots of trouble for me. They are totally ignorant and don’t care how customer feels.
Story #1:
They came to my apartment complex and tried to deliver a box. On that day, I wasn’t home, so UPS was thinking, “Oh, this guy is not home, so why don’t we give this package to one of his neighbors so we don’t have to do the extra work on re-delivery”. So, UPS gave the box to someone, basically, some dude live in the same building that I don’t even know. Then of course, when I came home, I couldn’t find the package anywhere and I had to call UPS for their “helpful service line”. Well, the lady who helped me on the phone said that someone signed off the package for me and I should just go doors to doors in my neighborhoods and see if anyone got my box. Now, I am confused. I am not working for UPS nor does UPS pay me a dime on anything, why should I do the work and try to locate the package by myself? When I order something online and have them to ship the goods to me, what people would normally expect is that, the box will be delivered to the actual recipient’s doorstep. So, why did I need to pay UPS for their “responsible” shipping service if I need to do all these extra work? At the end, I never know where the box is and I had to ask the shipper to send a replacement to me. UPS is such a loser in package delivery business.
Story #2:
This just happened today. Today is Thanksgiving Eve, and most of the office will be closed throughout this week. About a week ago, I bought something online and I knew the package is coming today based on the online tracking results. Since I have regular work to do, but the leasing office of my apartment (who usually signs packages for residents if they are not home) will be closed early today for Thanksgiving, I wrote a note on my door asking UPS to bring back the box to the UPS center and I will pick it up myself in person tonight. I know by the time I get off work today, the leasing office of my apartment will be closed already and I will have to wait for the entire week to get the package. So, I have decided to pick up the box by myself.
However, after the lunch time, I saw the online results showing someone from the office already signed off the package for me. It is very obvious that the UPS driver either didn’t come to my door and try to deliver the package or he/she is so stupid, stupid enough of not understanding my note on the door. Either way, the UPS once again, failed to meet the customer’s needs.

By BlueJeff | November 18, 2007

By BlueJeff | November 13, 2007

By BlueJeff | November 10, 2007

By BlueJeff | November 8, 2007
